Accompany. Strengthen. Integrate.
What is We Support PLUS?
we support PLUS is a socio-educational project that specifically supports particularly vulnerable people with refugee or migration experience. These people are often heavily burdened by traumatization or health restrictions and reach their limits in everyday life and in contact with authorities, doctors or social institutions.
The aim of the project is to sustainably promote the independence and cultural and social participation of these people through individual accompaniment to appointments, social group activities, a trauma stabilization consultation and leisure support by trained volunteers.
Why Was the Project Launched?
Many of the people we support are highly insecure due to traumatic experiences, language barriers and cultural differences. A large proportion feel overwhelmed by bureaucratic processes or everyday challenges. The existing social support structures are often insufficient here.
we support PLUS closes this care gap with a low-threshold, individually adapted and holistically designed support service – in close cooperation with the existing support system in Nuremberg.
Our Services at a Glance
1. Appointment support
We accompany our target group to important appointments – for example, with authorities, doctors or advice centers. Our social education professionals help with the preparation and provide support. The aim is to strengthen self-confidence and, in the long term, to promote the ability to independently attend these appointments.
2. Social group coaching
In regular small groups (5–6 participants), we work on topics such as self-esteem, communication and coping with everyday life. The participants learn to move more confidently in the new social environment, to express themselves and to network.
3. Trauma stabilization consultation
People with psychological stress or trauma receive low-threshold, short-term advice from qualified specialists. The aim is to improve and stabilize the quality of life of those affected through targeted exercises for self-regulation, stress management and resource activation.
4. Leisure support by volunteers
Volunteers are enabled through training to accompany newly immigrated people to leisure activities – individually or in groups. This is not just about meeting and cultural participation, but also about building intercultural relationships and mutual understanding.
Our Target Group
we support PLUS is aimed exclusively at newly immigrated third-country nationals with secure or soon-to-be-secured residence status who have been classified by social services or advice centers as psychologically or physically impaired, particularly vulnerable or traumatized.
Our Goals
- Strengthening independence in everyday life
- Psychological stabilization and promotion of resilience
- Facilitating social and cultural participation
- Relief for authorities, doctors and social institutions
Our Approach

We work in an empowering, resource-oriented and culturally sensitive way. Our attitude is characterized by respect, equality, tolerance and empathy. The people we support have a say – their autonomy and dignity are at the center of our actions.
