Our History
Since 2020, we have been supporting people as they enter the IT industry.
The we code IT Academy was born from the desire to prepare refugees and new immigrants for the German IT job market in a practical way.
With the support of the Johanniter Integration Center “First Steps”, our first multi-month course started in January 2020.
Since then, we have:
- conducted over 30 workshops
- organized more than 70 individual and group coaching sessions
And our offerings continue to grow:
- May 2021: Launch of our mentoring pilot program – experienced IT professionals individually accompany refugees as they enter the profession
- September 2021: Start of practical IT projects with real requirements from the industry
- January 2023: Introduction of an IT consultation hour, the Consult an IT Expert measure – for individual advice and first steps into an IT career
